ANNOUNCEMENTS: Horace was seeing volunteers to bake a turkey for the Trinity Church’s program in support of the homeless. If not, a contribution would certainly be welcome.
 
California High: The Interact Club’s, Swetha, reported on their numerous activities. A Halloween costume drive, the Christmas Tree Lot, How they have Adopted a Family and etc.
 
Student of The Month: Kyhlie Weed was honored this month as the first female kicker for the Cal. High Grizzlis, Kyhlie kicked 27 extra points out of a total of 31 tries for an 85% track record. Coach Christ Pratt was effusive in his praise and noted the guys on the team make an extra effort to protect Kyhlie.
Tree Lot: Brandon took the floor to announce the opening date for the Tree Lot – the Day after Thanksgiving, as usual. It will run from Nov. 25 through December 11. They have bought 844 trees. Hours: 200 to 7:00 pm. Weekends and 3:00 to 8:00 PM weekdays. Be sure to “sign up, don’t just show up.” They need to have a reliable schedule. A sign-up sheet was passed around.

The Rotary Foundation Minute: The “Annual Fund” finances projects. For example: building hospitals, fighting illiteracy, improving the Iron Horse trail and it includes Polio Plus. This year goal is $150 million dollars.
 
Rotary Christmas Party: December 10 at the Tucker’s. Be sure to respond to the invitation on line, or use the signup sheet that is passed around at the meeting.
 
Senior Center Party: December 8th is our annual party at the San Ramon Senior Center where we serve lunch for the folks. Please arrive early as you will be needed to help serve.
 
Protect the Little Critters: Says Hermann Welm. Now is a good time to time for you to trim your trees and hedges so the little folks won’t lose their nests.
 
PROGRAM: President Elect Lucky Sandhu shared his vision for our club in the 
coming year.  He thanked all members for their tremendous service to Rotary.
Lucky shared: Let’s carve out our future together.  Our club does more than most clubs and is one of the most respected and recognized clubs in District 5160.  Now, it’s up to us to maintain and carry that honorable legacy forward for years to come.  He noted, “Let us not take our accomplishments of over 30+ years for granted!”
He requested you to look for an area that you would like to get involved in and serve (whether as a board member, an event lead, or an event team member).  Also, let’s make sure we continue to welcome our new members by getting them involved in our conversations and club activities immediately, and let’s continue to take our club forward with our renewed passion, compassion and commitment.”

This year’s Rotary International convention is in Atlanta, Georgia.  This is a great opportunity for our club members to connect with our Rotary International family, learn the impact RI creates worldwide, and to create some wonderful lasting memories together.
