Main Event:

Melanie Emig presented our annual “Educator of the Year Award”.

“For more than a decade, the San Ramon Rotary Club has honored outstanding educators from the schools in San Ramon.  The club’s program helps us acknowledge the tremendous work done by the public schools in San Ramon and at the same time serves as an opportunity for the schools to inform the community of their accomplishments and showcase the excellent work of the educators at each school.  We know that all of our Educators are still working hard, and going above and beyond to finish the school year.  Our amazing educators demonstrate and contribute to Rotary’s principal motto “Service Above Self,” on a daily basis.”

Melanie is very proud to present our 2020 San Ramon Rotary Club Educators of the Year...
  • Emily Eisan | 3rd Grade Teacher | Neil Armstrong Elementary. Emily is known as a compassionate teacher that treats each student with respect.  She is a team player, is very innovative and all her peers love her.
  • Torri Rhyne | 5th Grade Teacher | Walt Disney Elementary. Torri “pours her heart into teaching and has a passion for language”.
  •   Erika Kay | 1st Grade Teacher | Country Club Elementary.  Erika Kay is the true model of  a compassionate, caring teacher. She has a deep desire to do what is right. She follows her heart and provides a flexible learning environment.
  • Cheryl Keller | Technology Teacher | Iron Horse Middle School.  Cheryl leads a “hands on” program and her students have won a competition with a water disinfectant system. She has been effective in connecting our schools to the community.  As for Cheryl, she just says: “I do what I love”. The joy of her job is her students.
  • Stacy Campbell | 2nd/3rd Grade Teacher | Montevideo Elementary. Stacy was honored for being on the “cutting edge” of teaching. She constantly finds new ways to reach each individual.
  •   Kristine Banis | 3rd Grade Teacher | Bollinger Canyon Elementary. Christine truly “rises above”. She is flexible yet on the cutting edge. Really cares about her students and is constantly improving.
  •  Emily Izon:  3rd Neil Armstrong.  Emily was recognized as a compassionate teacher who brings out best in each student. She encourages them to treat each other with respect. She believes each student should be given what they need to succeed.  She is a leader but also a team player.  Her Principal says she is fun to work with and her peers love her.
