The Unsung Heroes Award: In recognition of Service Above Self is a relatively new award started a few years ago. We were trying to find a way to give praise and recognition to those who really get their hands dirty and do it with a positive and uplifting attitude within the community. So we reached out to our community to get their feedback as to those who dedicate themselves and go above and beyond the call of duty to inspire and teach others the basic idea of Service Above Self. That launched our Inaugural Award Ceremony in which we had 4 amazing winners.

Each year we have receive even more nominations than the year before of amazing volunteers from within our community. This community is bursting with such fabulous and selfless volunteers so it is always very difficult for our committee to pick! Each year we donate in the name of the winner to the organization they volunteer with a monetary donation.
